Columbia Heights’ “Castle on the Hill”, the extensive Cardozo modernization project included a pair of skylight-enclosed atria, a gymnasium addition recessed into the hillside with staff parking on its roof, a swimming pool, and many restored and upgraded elements to give the 100-year old stately building a new life and an expanded enrollment.
