Whirlwind Café

GCS-SIGAL completed a six-phased renovation of the Whirlwind Café, the cafeteria and servery area for the MITRE Corporation’s four-building complex, which serves over 3,000 people daily. This extensive project was designed to enhance the dining experience while ensuring that operations continued smoothly throughout the renovation process.

To accommodate full daytime use of the cafeteria, work was carried out off-hours and in carefully coordinated phases, adhering to health department standards. The renovation scope included the installation of a stand-alone, self-contained, water-cooled AAON Air Handler Unit to meet the expanded demands of the café. This modernization effort not only improved functionality but also provided a more inviting atmosphere for employees and visitors alike.
