Takoma Aquatic Center

GCS-SIGAL provided design-build services for the renovation of the Takoma Aquatic Center, originally built in 2004. This one-story facility features a clerestory that offers a floor-to-ceiling height of 22 feet and houses a 50 x 25-meter indoor pool, complemented by an observation deck on the mezzanine. Additional spaces include mechanical and pump rooms, locker rooms, weight and exercise areas, staff rooms, classrooms, and storage.

The renovation scope included replacing the roofing system, upgrading HVAC and mechanical equipment, refurbishing drywall, tile flooring, toilet partitions, and sprinkler heads. These improvements enhanced the functionality of both program and service spaces, significantly elevating the recreational experience for the community.
