Garrison Elementary School

Located in DC’s Shaw/Logan Circle neighborhood, Garrison Elementary School underwent a fast-track modernization that revitalized the 1960s building. Enlarged classrooms now accommodate more students and offer flexibility for various teaching approaches, while small break-out areas enhance individual and group work, fostering creative development.

The exterior renovation included playgrounds for various ages, a basketball court, outdoor education space, gardens, bioretention learning areas, public art installations, and synthetic turf baseball and soccer fields. The school remained occupied during this phase, necessitating collaboration between GCS-SIGAL and school staff to schedule construction around the academic program.
